In this world the beauty of love is all around us. Especially in nature when we are graced by the golden rays of the sun amidst the lush foliage in our parks. On many sunlit days we view the crushing of the waves while strolling along the beach during the summer months. Or, often when we observe ice-covered mountains that grace the skyline in the country side.

There are however other true loves that are more personal that we embrace in our daily walk on our journey through life. These consist mainly of the people that are dear to us - our father, mother, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbors and friends. Much of this love is true, just and holy. We are attracted by their smile, laughter, dress, education, physical charm and, or intellectual prowess. Such is the abundant good in humankind that reveals itself as the face of beautiful truth. It was Wayne Dyer (b. 1940) an American self-help author and motivational speaker that observed, “Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.” Abundance of the beauty is all around us for us to grasp.

To touch abundance a basic principle is involved. An American Founding Father and principal author of the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson (1743 – 1826) realized, “Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.” Indeed, in order to capture truth, beauty and wisdom calls for honesty. Wise seers profess we can embrace these gifts through perseverance that challenges our nature in our attempt to do and be better and better each day. A process that takes time and much emotional and spiritual growth.

Faithful Love

To be truly in love calls for much dedication and hard work. Having touched this joy we come to a place where we will embrace the Almighty One. Such power is found in His loving kindness that we show in our actions towards others. This is wondrous love at its best. It may seem evasive but by consistency we will be able to capture it. Faithful love is all around us. Imagine yourself undertaking a journey of sorts –  life's journey of discovery. Profess a Catholic faith – that is the universal faith that has to do with all things. Become secure in your walk, by encountering a deep and lasting reality. Such an authentic undertaking brings joy to the soul and is faithful love at its best. An American cosmetic surgeon and author Maxwell Maltz (1889 – 1975) stated, “Man maintains his balance, poise, and sense of security only as he is moving forward.” A display of faithful love will never be stagnant. It is always on the move embracing all good things in its path.

Love of Christ

An American screenwriter Monica Johnson (1946 – 2010) captured the essence of faith when she testified, “God is so unique in giving His people ways of fellowship, witness, and remember what a mighty and merciful God He is.” God's love is through the Word of Truth. It reveals itself in by loving the poor underdog. The Holy Spirit will deepen our love and reveal the greatest love of all. It is the love of the Cross that is a symbol of our hope, resurrection, life and future salvation. Become an old saint growing in love. It is the best worth in life that brings true liberty and the purest of hearts. This is when you will have a heart of flesh through the Spirit of Truth that comes from the Good Shepherd Himself, embodying and witnessing His faith.

Love of Creation

Rabindranath Tagore (1861 – 1941) a Bengali author and artist of the late 19th and early 20th century believed, “Love is the only reality and it is not mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.” Tagore touched the pulse of love's greatest reality. Most persons encounter love through the signs of God's love that are with us. Such liberty reveals true beauty for it cleanses our hearts and souls. With such love new hearts are formed and nurtured and lead to the charity of understanding of different cultures, challenging us in our roles to be custodians of God's creation.

Community love will care for people in our villages, cities and towns. By so doing we will follow the commandment to love our neighbor as our self. With such a commandment, we will end up sowing love in every place by displaying the fruits of the Spirit for all to see. Love as a powerful source creates and recreates - and as it does so, blesses all things in its path. This is the ultimate beauty of life that could best be described as a boundless love.
